It’s Friday, July 10, 2026: According to a recent report, West Chester University is failing to teach its teachers to properly teach reading. A deeply concerning finding, especially since we just learned reading scores have been dropping across the District for the last decade. This is a troubling story all around, but in my opinion, what is making it so much worse is the university’s response to these charges. I spoke with the president of the organization behind the report about their process and why it’s time to demand more.

Also, West Chester Borough explores a new tax designation; yes, that’s the same thing as a new tax. More changes are coming to downtown parking, but I think you’re going to like at least some of these; construction begins on a new hotel on Carter Dr., and when is it ok to ride an e-bike? The answers may surprise you.

Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.
