It’s Friday, Oct. 23, 2026: Let’s call this the building and housing issue of the West Chester News Roundup. Emphasis on issue. This week, we look at health and safety conditions at a Westtown apartment complex. Reports of flooded apartments go back years; now fed-up residents are turning to the township for help getting action. “It just seems that it’s been going on for years. So, I guess my question is, how’s this going to stop?” one resident asked Township supervisors.
In the Borough, a renovation project led to a partial building collapse while thousands circled the town in support of breast cancer warriors. I speak with Building and Housing Director Aaron Flook about how this happened and where things stand today. Also, the Borough approves a preliminary budget for 2027. There will be a tax increase – the question is how much? West Goshen walks back some of its Zoning Changes, Jefferis Bridge reopens, and finally, some positive economic news. It seems the price of vintage is going down.
Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.
