It’s Friday, Oct. 9, 2026: In this week’s West Chester News Roundup, we are tying up some loose ends, with updates from DK Diner, a look at East Bradford’s big plans for its flagship park, and Margie broke the story on what’s happening at the old Boston Market. Spoiler: it doesn’t look like they’ll be serving chicken or anything for a long time.
Our lead story this week looks at teen mental health. There is light and, dare I say, happiness in childhood again. Five years ago, more than 40 percent of high school students reported feeling sustained periods of sadness; that number has thankfully come down as teens turn back to more traditional vices. Also, we meet Elle Parkin. She has some ideas on what moms need, and she’s hoping to deliver at her new moms meets. They have been quite popular so far. Plus, we deep dive into sexual violence on West Chester’s campus, tell you where you’ll find paving crews in West Chester, and get ready for the Chili Cook-off.
It’s a gorgeous one today. Grab yourself a PSL – or is it caramel apple these days? – and meet me outside.
Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.
