It’s Friday, July 3, 2026: Restaurant Inspection reports are out for June, and I have some serious questions for the people at Scott Honda. Also, a West Chester hotel was quietly closed by officials last month after a fire call turned up dangerous conditions that have potentially been in place for months. And in our top story, we look at the real estate market. Spoiler – it’s good news for homeowners, but not really anyone else.

Plus, tips for keeping your pets safe in this heat, a West Chester retailer starts a national trend, and the “Best of the Main Line” rankings are out, and I want to know your thoughts. (I’m going to try to keep my opinions to myself until I hear yours.)

Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.

Exciting news! I know some people don’t like subscriptions, so I am introducing a once-and-done all-access option. See a story you are dying to read, but are worried about another subscription? $8 will get you full access for one month. This includes access to the archive. So, say you wanted to read about the Fern Hill Reservoir and why Aqua is giving it back, or West Chester students’ failing test scores and what the District plans to do about them, you can do that all at one time, for one $8 payment. (If you are viewing on your phone, scroll down. It’s the third option.)
