It’s Friday, June 26, 2026: Hello! Who missed me? It was a nice little break but it’s good to be back in the Borough. This week, we are exploring a new era of recreational drugs—and this one does not require you to “know a guy.”
These substances are unregulated and available at local gas stations and vape shops, in most cases with no questions asked. Elected officials in West Chester and Harrisburg are hoping to change that, while others are asking, do these bans go too far?
Plus, we get an update on West Chester’s at-capacity sewer system, Marshall Square Park is adding a sidewalk to N. Franklin St. (yay!), and we look at three new retail locations that are promising to bring West Chester a variety of new diversions. Indoor golf, anyone?
And that’s just the half of it. Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.
Exciting news! I know some people don’t like subscriptions, so I am introducing a once-and-done all-access option. See a story you are dying to read, but are worried about another subscription? $8 will get you full access for one month. This includes access to the archive. So, say you wanted to read about the Fern Hill Reservoir and why Aqua is giving it back, West Chester students’ failing test scores and what the District plans to do about them, or West Chester Restaurant Inspection reports (coming out next week!), you can do that all at one time, for one $8 payment. And full transparency, the full charge is $8. (If you are viewing on your phone, scroll down. It’s the third option.)
