It’s Friday, June 5, 2026: For the last ten years, West Chester students’ reading and math test scores have been falling. West Chester isn’t alone in the losses. It aligns with a national trend, but it also has to change, and the district knows it. This week, I talk to West Chester Area School District Superintendent Dr. David Christopher about what is being done to curb these learning losses. I also speak with other area school districts about what has worked for them. West Chester is still one of the state’s top districts, but if nothing changes, for how much longer?

“We have to have a sense of urgency. It’s not fair to kids right now,” said Dr. Christopher.

Also, this week, an update on the Fern Hill Reservoir, West Chester gets a new running club, high school graduations, WCU baseball plays for the National Championship, and the Borough goodbye we’ve all been waiting for.

Oh, man, what a week.

Ok, who’s ready? Let’s catch up.
