Starting on January 5, the West Chester Weekly News Roundup will be available only by email. The newsletter will no longer be posted to the Hello, West Chester website. The website will continue to feature single-topic news stories, entrepreneur profiles, and a running calendar of events as well as information about this initiative, how to subscribe, and advertising options. The newsletter, with all its little details and insights, however, will require a monthly or annual subscription.
Those who have signed up to receive email notifications from the Hello, West Chester website through WordPress have automatically been added to the email newsletter list. You should see no disruption in your service as long as you accept the subscription notification from Mailchimp, my newsletter management service. Look for your first newsletter on Friday.
This update is part of a series of changes meant to streamline operations and improve the reader experience. It’s also part of an effort to ensure Hello, West Chester is financially sustainable. Producing a robust, insightful publication each week takes a lot of time and effort but at the same time operations are very lean – it’s just me. So I figure if all readers were to contribute $12 a year that would go a long way toward keeping this going. (That’s around a quarter an issue.)
I am still working on the logistics of how to set that up so stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, just make sure you are signed up for the emails so you don’t miss an issue. If you haven’t donated yet, you can do that now. All donations made now, regardless of amount, will get you a free year of the “best WC news round-up.”
Thank you to many who have already signed up. I’m excited for this new year and I hope you are too!
Questions, comments, or business acumen you’d like to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
