11 Restaurants out of compliance last month, with violations ranging from 2 to 24.

Dim Sum Taste, 127 W. Gay St., out, 17 violations, including prepared foods held for more than 24 hours without a date indicating when they were made, employees changing tasks without washing their hands in between, raw animal foods stored above ready -to-eat foods and produce in the walk-in cooler, chicken thighs defrosting on the cookline, bowls and strainers stored clean with oil and food residue on them, and a hood system not adequate to remove heat or grease, as evidenced by the grease collecting on the walls, ceilings, and fixtures.

King’s Garden Restaurant, 308 S. High St., out, 11 violations, including fried rice, fried chicken, lo mien, and pork improperly cooled. These foods were discarded during the inspection, and the staff ordered to be trained on proper cooling procedures. Cooked egg rolls were held more than a week, the deli slicer had visible food residue on it, the green painted wire baskets were chipping and rusting, and the smoker was not connected to the exhaust. This is a follow-up inspection. King’s Garden has failed four consecutive inspections starting on Feb. 11.

Red Sombrero, 1526 Paoli Pike, out, 21 violations, including a partially eaten muffin left on the food equipment, food stored in the walk-in cooler uncovered, no soap or paper towels at the hand wash sink, ready-to-eat foods stored for more than 24 hours without a date indicating when they were made, a leak in the hallway leading to the customer restroom, and foods stored in unmarked containers.
