In sad news for local parents and for sure kids, Monkey Fish Toys announced they will be closing their Bradford Plaza location at the end of January. Owners KC and Mike Olafsson shared in a video posted to social media that the decision was not made lightly.

“2024 was a tough year for us healthwise,” they said. Then after plans to transition the business to new owners fell through they made the tough decision to close.

“Mike and I have made the very difficult decision to retire, which means closing our West Chester location at the end of January,” they wrote.

“Thank you for making us the greatest neighborhood toy store,” KC said.

And great it was. The toy store which opened its West Chester location in 2017 has not only helped fuel kids’ imaginations with a wide range of toys, puzzles, and games, but it gave procrastinating parents all over the peace of mind of knowing they could stop in 15 minutes before a birthday party to grab a gift and have it wrapped to seemingly well-planned perfection. Monkey Fish Toys, you will be missed.

Some notes for avid MFT shoppers: returns and exchanges will be accepted through Jan. 10 after that all sales are final. Gift cards and points can be used through the end of January.
