Taqueria Los Poblanos, the taco stand at 445 Hannum Ave, was closed by the Chester County Health Department last month after a routine inspection found it to be infested by rodents.
“Rodent droppings observed throughout the facility,” the report reads.
The owner told inspectors that the establishment employs monthly pest control. Unfortunately, what was previously done was not enough. Inspectors also found that the back exterior door does not fully close even when locked, which could be aiding in the entry of pests.
Several food-contact surfaces, as well as various equipment and floors, were found to be in contact with rodent droppings. All impacted surfaces must be washed, rinsed, and sanitized.
“Clean in a sanitary manner and complete service by a licensed pest control operator in order to control and eradicate rodents and other pests. This must be completed prior to reopening, as an uncontrolled pest infestation constitutes an imminent health hazard,” the report reads.
As of Friday morning, the restaurant remains closed. This story was first reported in our weekly newsletter.
