Downtown West Chester after Governor Wolf ordered all non-essential businesses closed.

Updated Thursday 8 p.m.: Effective Sunday March 22, the Borough implemented new Take-Out Food Procedures for restaurants and patrons are no longer allowed inside to pick up food. Instead the restaurant must be able to provide delivery or curbside pick-up. In addition:

  • All orders must be placed by phone, online or by other no contact means.
  • Customers paying in cash must have exact change. Restaurants are not allowed to make change.
  • Carry out windows are allowed but if you find yourself in a line, you must keep six feet between you and the next person.

These rule changes have forced more restaurant closures. I am updating the below list as I learn of new closures.

In the wake of the coronavirus all non-essential businesses have been ordered to close by the state but so far that is not keeping local businesses from helping you stay sane during the next couple of weeks.

Here’s a recap of who’s open, who’s closed and who’s got your carry out.

Also, note downtown metered parking is free until further notice!

Need to get a run in?

Bryn Mawr Running Company will help you find the correct shoe. If they don’t already have it in their database, take a pic of your current shoe and email it to them. Live within five miles of a store? They’ll personally drop your purchase off at your door.

Yoga more your thing

Eat Drink Om Yoga Cafe and Flourish West Chester have both been streaming free live classes on Instagram (follow them for details.), So is Barre3.

Kids driving you crazy?

Monkey Fish Toys will FaceTime with you so you can take a virtual tour of the store and select a few items to pacify stir-crazy kids.

The Painted Plate has pottery-to-go options available. Check out on their website – pick up is at their downtown location.

West Chester Public Library is taking its beloved storytime to the small screen. Check out their YouTube Channel for the latest.

Little Wonderkin has been sharing daily family activities using at home ingredients. They are good for all ages, but she specializes in the hard to entertain pre-K set. Follow on Instagram for the latest.

Update: parks are open; playgrounds and basketball courts are closed. Also, all West Chester parks and playgrounds are open for now, but you are encouraged to practice social distancing and good hygiene habits (wash those hands when you get home!)

Many of local restaurants are trying to find creative ways to stay open.

Need to restock home office supplies?

Penn Office Products delivers; Office Depot/Office Max has next day delivery (and last I hear, toilet paper).

Missed last call on alcohol?

Beer Mill is open so are the beer and wine sections of Giant and Acme. And if that wasn’t enough, several local establishments have beer available for curbside pickup (Levante, Saloon 151, Kildares, Side Bar and Opa Taverna, to name a few)

  1. Hello! Thanks for all the info. I just wanted to note that Kooma is also available for curbside and delivery. Our hours are Mon-Sat 11:30am-10pm and Sunday 4-9pm. Thank you!

  2. Benny’s is doing takeout- can you add them please? Their dinner was terrific the other night and they were super gracious to have customers.
