It’s Cookie Time

Hello, West Chester, we have important things to discuss this morning. Where do you get your Girl Scout cookies?

I have been diligently entering Giant, Acme and most other local retail-establishments head-down lately, trying to avoid making eye-contact with the 9-year-old girls manning the cookie table. Sad, I know. Until, as always, I succumb to temptation and convenience – no longer can I hide behind my constant lack of cash – and buy a box or three.

So, since you’re eventually going to give in (or in my case go back for more), here’s what you need to know about this year’s batch of Girl Scout Cookies.

When do cookies go on sale?

Cookie kickoff in this area was January 17. Cookies will be on sale until March 10.

Are there are any new flavors this year?

Yes. Girl Scouts of America has added another gluten-free option, Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are are limited release and only available in some areas (ours is one of them) however, only while supplies last and they can not be ordered online.

How much does a box of cookies cost?

Cookies are $4 a box ($5 for speciality flavors S’mores, Toffee-tastic and Caramel Chocolate chip) – and they accept credit cards.

What types of Girl Scout cookies are there this year?

This year you can choose between:

Who bakes our cookies?

In this area, the cookies are baked by ABC Bakers. If like me, you are used to Little Brownie Bakers you should grab a box next time you are at the shore.

Didn’t know there was a difference? Here’s a map and an explanation.
