Hello, West Chester,

It’s Friday November 23 – the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday – the day before Shop Small Saturday. No matter how you look at it shopping is probably involved. In case you’ve taken a holiday from constant news monitoring, here’s what’s been happening around town.

Borough Hall renovations nearing completion. Soon you will be able to take your parking gripes back to 401 E. Gay Street but don’t expect things to look the same. Improvement were made to better utilize the space including new meeting rooms and two new jail cells. Upgrades were also made to improve energy efficiency in the building. Daily Local is reporting daily operations will return to Borough Hall on Dec. 6.

More late night delivery options coming to West Chester. Late-night delivery service GoPuff plans to soon open a warehouse in West Chester, Philly.com reports. The Center City-based company distinguishes itself by delivering not just food and snacks but other daily essentials.

The fog the wasn’t. Smoke from California fires caused a what many assumed was a “fog” Monday morning. The National Oceanic Atmospheric Association reported that the conditions were actually caused by smoke from the Camp and Woosley fires in California. The smoke was carried by Easterly winds to the Philadelphia region.

Get involved. West Chester is accepting applications for board and commission appointments including Park & Rec, Library and Sustainability committees. Find a complete listing and instructions on how to apply on the Borough website.
